Ritter's Frozen Custard

Tonight we decided to get some yummy frozen custard from Ritter's. It is so yummy! This week has been a lot of work for me. T.J. has been enjoying his last week without work. He has been watching lots of movies and playing his xbox. I am really looking forward to the weekend for some R&R!

Sunday Drives

Absolutely nothing on the agenda today. T.J. wasn't too chipper this morning after his long afternoon/night of cleaning all the beer out of the fridge:) We decided to go on a Sunday drive. We went nowhere in particular. Probably not too many more of these Sundays that we will go on drives before winter gets here. After we got home, I decided to get a little work done. Since this is T.J.'s last week home before he starts his new job, he went and rented a video game to play. (He will just love that I put that on here!) Now it's time for dinner. I better get something made...

Lazy Saturday

There's nothing much going on today. T.J. & I slept until 10 o'clock today. Ahh, I LOVE sleeping in! Herky was sick last night and woke us up a few times...poor baby! When we finally got up, we went for a walk. I am making another batch of applebutter. We decided to grab some Starbucks. (my latest addiction!) Now I am getting some work done. T.J. is watching football and having a few drinks. He is trying to get some of the beer out of our fridge:) It is taking up too much room! Tonight we are getting the UFC pay per view. He loves watching the fights. Me...not so much. I will probably just keep working into the night or maybe do some scrapbooking. We'll see.

Winding Down

Today was a busy day. After lunch, T.J. and I went to Dick's Sporting Goods and exchanged his coat and gloves for a different color. Then we hit up Starbucks and sat outside and talked for awhile. After getting all charged up on coffee, we decided to go home and carve pumpkins. I practically begged and bribed T.J. into carving with me. Then afterwards he said, "I am really glad you made me do that. It was really fun." :)

Once we got all cleaned up, we decided to go to Anderson Orchard in Mooresville. We checked out all the apples and decided to get some Stayman variety of apples. When we got back to Plainfield, we ran into Ace to get some jars for the applebutter I intended to make. Before dinner we stopped at Hollywood Video to get a couple movies. We had a rent one, get one free coupon. But when we checked out, the guy behind the counter said that since it was T.J.'s birthday, he got the one for free as well! Then it was off to El Jaripeo for yummy Mexican cuisine. Please note that everywhere we went, we got front row parking. Not one place we went did we have to park more than car deep. T.J. was getting star treatment everywhere we went. After we got home, we cored and sliced apples and got everything in the crockpot. Then we sat back and watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

All in all, I hope T.J. had a great day! I really had fun celebrating his birthday with him. The countdown is on to the big 3-0 next year!!

HIP HIP HOORAY for T.J.!!!!!!!

T.J. got his employment package in the mail today from Brightpoint.........and he accepted!!! Yippee! He is so excited to be back in the working world -- and honestly, I am pretty excited for him too:) His title is Contact Services Rep. He will be calling on customers to see that they are satisfied with their products. It is a good company, and maybe he can move up eventually. So congrats to you, T.J.! This is a picture of him at his makeshift office just after getting the package and the good news.

In other news, I finally tried my new curlers, and it was a huge failure! I took a picture so I could do a before and after, but the after was pretty bad. I got some tips from Keriann, so hopefully the next time will work better. T.J. and I went today and got a safety deposit box at the bank. Talk about feeling like a grown-up! I also got my new USB lava lamp that I ordered off of eBay in today (I guess I am not too grown-up yet). Isn't it cute?

Sunday Stroll

T.J. and I slept in this morning. We didn't set an alarm, and it was great!! Last night we went to the Wainwright's for a bonfire. We cooked hotdogs over the fire, not to mention smores! It was a perfect cool night to sit around the crackling fire.

This morning we got up and went for a walk. We started at Swinford Park (our favorite). Then we headed on the White Lick Creek Trail. It was only 46 degrees this morning, but felt really nice in the sun. I wish this cool weather would last longer! Falls are too short and winter is too long! Here is a pretty picture of the trail that we walk on.

Mystique Salon & Day Spa

Oh, I had the BEST morning this morning!! After getting up and getting a little exercise in, I headed to Mystique Salon & Day Spa. A couple months ago T.J. bought me a spa package there. I got to have an hour massage and a pedicure. It was awesome!! I chose purple nail polish. It's a little Halloweenish; right?!?!

Ah, the weekend...

This week has been pretty crazy work-wize. I actually took a lot of jobs last week before my family came. This week I was mostly at home working on transcripts. Today I had a job to finish out the week.

After I got home, T.J. and I decided to go on a stroll. We went to our favorite park, Swinford Park. It is so pretty. We really enjoyed walking in the cool, brisk air. Not to mention the beautiful colors of the trees!!

Members Only!

Today T.J. and I decided to become part of a country-wide organization -- SAM'S CLUB!!! After going there this weekend with my family, we decided that having a membership there would help us save some moola in the long run. The only problem that we are running into is that our apartment is too small for all the oversized items we bought! Our freezer is so packed I don't think you could fit anything else in it!

We also stopped at Hobby Lobby -- one of T.J.'s very least places to stop! I picked up a few items that I needed to finish making some Christmas surprises:)

I am so excited for Christmas this year. I can't wait to do my Christmas baking!! I already checked out the baking aisle at Sam's. I think I will just buy a 5 lb. bag of sugar there instead of going to the regular store for smaller bags!!

I get by with a little help...

...from Baxter!! He sat staring at me crying until I picked him up. Then he only wanted to sit with his head on the pullout part of my desk by my keyboard. Nothing but work for me today. I had a busy week last week, so it's time to get caught up!

to blog or not to blog...

I have decided to give blogging a try. I enjoy reading my friends' blogs, so here goes!

Mom, Scott, Keriann & Derrick came for a visit this past weekend. We had so much fun having them here. On Friday the girls went shopping on Mass Ave., Zionsville, Sam's Club, and Metropolis. While we were doing that, the boys went to the race car museum, go-karting, and bowling.

Saturday was the Iowa v. Indiana game. What a blast! Tailgating was actually in a beautiful setting, kind of like camping. I think the game would be considered a blowout -- IA 45, IN 9.

Bob Evans was where it was at Sunday morning. The crew needed a good breakfast before the trip back to Iowa. T.J. & I tried to hit up an apple orchard, but they don't have apples this year, but they do have fudge. It kind of threw us for a loop!
