Pretty Puppies and Taxes

Today the dogs got to go see Katie and get a bath. They are so nice there. Next time I will try to get a picture of them with Katie and her assistant. After we got home, Herky & Baxter got a stick. They love sticks. Usually they go nuts for them, although the video I have attached is pretty mellow. Maybe they are worn out from being groomed.

Today was also tax day for us. We met with our accountant. Now we just have to sit and wait and hope our estimates were right and that we won't get kicked come April!

Skinny jeans?

Today I went to a new chiropractor on the east side of Indy. The funny thing is that it's Mindy Johnson's Mom (JoAnn)'s cousin. Small world, huh? Anyway, he got me and my back all straightened out -- hallelulia! My aching neck was killing me.

After that I headed back to Plainfield. I had some spare time, so I headed to Kohl's to do some quick shopping. I decided to try on these skinny jeans and rad zippy:) This is my attempt to be young and hip -- don't worry, I didn't buy any of it!
I did cave, though, and buy a black pair of skinny jeans at Maurices, but I can justify them b/c they were only $10! We'll see if I ever wear them:)

I had a lunch with Missy and her two girls, Abbi & Kaitlyn, at McDonald's. Abbi was pretty happy to play on all the equipment they have there.

It's Herky & Baxter here...

...and we wanted to say, "Thank you," to Grandma Barb for our new toys! They are so much fun and we haven't put them down yet! Woof xoxoxo woof!! I (Baxter) especially love the toys and am already trying to ruin one of them:)

Working out, week 1

Well, this week T.J. and I are trying to make working out a priority in our lives again. It is going good so far and I hope we can make a good routine out of it. Right now, though, I feel like I have been run over by a truck, backed up on, and run over again. No, no, no, it's really not that bad. Mostly I just can't raise my arms above my head. T.J., on the other hand, is in some serious pain. Today I accidentally elbowed him...oops! I heard a tear in his voice when he said, "Watch where you put your elbows!" It was funny.

Since Wednesday is T.J.'s day off and I am home today, we are going to hit up Sam's Club for some bulky items (chicken, kleenex, etc.) Maybe we'll give the dogs a bath today. Or maybe not. I don't know if we will be able to kneel down by the tub to do it! Probably going to buy our Vegas tickets today! We are looking forward to going in June with a good group of friends for Mike & Meagan's wedding.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!Today T.J. & I had a nice lunch planned at Cheesecake Factory. We usually don't go out to eat at all for Valentine's Day because the crowds and long waits are too much for my patience. Since it fell on a Saturday, though, we decided to give it a shot. We got to Cheesecake Factory right around 11:30. We walked in about the same time as three or four 60 year old couples:) We felt older beyond our years. But when we left and the lobby was full of people waiting to eat, we felt pretty wise!
After lunch we got dessert at Cold Stone Creamery -- YUM-O!! Mike & Julie sent us a valentine with a gift card for Cold Stone (thank you so much!) we love that place and birthday cake remix.
We went home and just hung out but got kind of restless, so we decided to go to El J's for some margaritas. They were delicious! I will definitely add that to my "regular order" everytime we go there.

I had a pretty good buzz just after one of my margaritas. My head felt heavy. T.J. thought this was a pretty funny picture:) He totally wimped out. Notice my glass that is sucked dry and my straw moved over to his cup to help him out:)

I wanted to share with everyone my list of things I love about T.J. I wrote this for him in his card. So here goes:

T.J., I love:

  • your eyes
  • your laugh
  • your hugs
  • your kisses
  • the way you make me laugh
  • the way you listen to me
  • how we fit like a puzzle together
  • how you split the chores with me
  • how we are always on the same page
  • how you never complain about my cooking (or lack thereof)
  • the way you love me for me
  • how you help me save money
  • the funny things you mispronounce
  • how you stutter when you get excited
  • your snores when you are awake
  • your bed head
  • your whistling
  • your beat boxing
  • your hands
  • how you share the remote
  • how you spit big time when you sneeze:)
  • how you take the dogs out most of the time
  • how you make up different words for songs

This is, of course, just a small list of the things I love about T.J., but some are kind of funny and I wanted to share.

Chef Boyardee, that's me!

I didn't have a job on Friday and was all caught up on work, which NEVER happens! I also don't have a job on Monday, so that means 4 whole days with no work and nothing to do. On Friday I watched a serious amount of TV -- lots of Food Network. I decided that I wanted to do some baking/cooking. I made some frozen dinners for later when I am busier with work. I made some delicious cookies. It was a new recipe.
The weather here has been really warm, which is awesome! By today (Sunday) the snow is pretty much gone. Saturday morning we got up and took the dogs on a nice long walk at the park. It seems like they forgot how to go on a walk. Lately we have been letting them outside long enough just to do their business and then hurry back inside b/c they start shivering and Baxter cries. Anyway, they got completely soaked on their walk. They were running through puddles and tromping through the sloppy grass! I think they had a good time.

After the walk we decided to stop at Wal-Mart to get a detachable shower head. It's been a big necessity, but we keep putting it off. Now bath time with the doggies will be a little easier! Saturday afternoon we decided to go and see He's Just Not That Into You. It was a cute chick flick.

This morning T.J. got up and went and got a haircut. I decided to take the dogs for another walk. They seemed to know more of what they were doing this time. We went for a Sunday drive early this afternoon. Then we came home and watched Housebunny (hillarious!!) Now we are watching Eagle Eye. This is a side note, but we went to the car wash today and I noticed what was holding this sign up...nothing but a trusty old belt:)

I don't have an idea what I am going to do tomorrow with myself. Maybe make something??

So sick of the snow!

Last night the weatherman said to expect one inch of snow. We definitely got at least two inches, probably more! Of course, this afternoon I have to drive to Terre Haute, which is an hour drive on a good day. It seems every time it snows I get the pleasure of driving around the State of Indiana. It looks like Iowa outside;o)

Otherwise, nothing new to report. T.J. has been reading the last book in the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn. At his work they took most of the Internet privileges away, so he has become quite the bookworm!

Whirlwind Weekend!

Mom and Scott got here late Thursday night. We are so glad they were able to come for a visit! The weather was pretty bad here. On Tuesday it started. On Wednesday morning we woke up to 11.5 inches. The news said it was the 9th worse snowstorm the Indianapolis airport had on record. The thing about it is that Indiana is not used to getting much accumulating snow at all. Usually a dusting here or there, but that's it. The plows are scarce (especially in our apartment complex!!!) On a high note, though, it is 42 today so far and a lot of the white stuff is slowly melting away.

FRIDAY (Mom's 52nd Birthday):

On Friday we decided to go to Nashville, Indiana. It's about an hour south. It is a scenic drive on winding, tree-lined roads. When we got there, we realized that quite a few of the stores were closed. The town had been pretty shut down most of the week. Everyone in that town was so nice and very chatty. I think the chattiness was from being snowed in all week:) I got the dogs some new charms for their collars.
Baxter gets "Puppy Love". Herky gets "Loves Heavy Petting". I also got a couple pair of socks. They have a sock factory in Brown County that is the largest in the U.S. I got a dog pair and this lovely pair of balerina socks since I love dancing around the house so much! T.J. even picked them out for me:)
We ate at Harvest Moon Pizzeria for lunch. It was really yummy! Mom snapped this when we weren't ready. The next one is a good one.She thought that picture was so funny she was balling from laughing so hard. The town and shopping was really cute. We are looking forward to going back when the weather is nicer. For dinner we decided to go to Akira Japanese Steak House. It was so fun to watch our dinners being made. Seriously, how can they spin an egg, flip it on a spatula, then hit it on the side of the spatula to crack it? Not to mention how delicious my filet mignon was -- the best steak I have ever had!
They gave mom this pineapple boat with a sparkler for her birthday!
After we left there, it was time for cake & presents!!

Mom really likes her new digital frame from all her kids:)

Saturday:

We did some shopping on Saturday at Greenwood Mall. T.J. and Scott went to see Gran Torino while we shopped. They said it was a really good movie. We got some yummy Baskin Robins for dessert! We also went to Hobby Lobby for some netting to make these scrubby things for washing dishes.

Sunday:

Mom & Scott had some breakfast and then hit the road for the ride back to Iowa. It was so fun having them here! Now I have to work while T.J. is watching the PPV from last night. Then the Super Bowl tonight.
