T.J. and I went to the doctor this morning. The doctor thinks I may have an ulcer. He gave me some meds to help with my stomachache and get the ulcer healed. They did blood work to verify that that's what it is. I should have the results of that tomorrow. I also had to do a urine test and the phlebotomist said I may have a UTI as well. Ugh!!

The doctor said that the ulcer may have been caused by stress and Aleve. I take Aleve probably every other day for headaches. I have always had headaches since middle school. He said Tylenol is the safest thing to take, so I am going to just be taking that from now on.

Thanks for all your kind words and prayers. I am just exhausted from worrying about this, so I am going to lay down and try to get some rest.

I will try to keep this post as simple as possible. I have been having some pretty bad stomach pain the last four to five days. Today I had a black stool, which freaked me out. I guess a black stool means you are digesting blood. In case you are wondering, I am not a vampire (even though I do love Edward!), so I am guessing I am bleeding or something internally? I don't know. I am pretty scared. I go to the doctor tomorrow at 8 a.m. and will hopefully get some answers.

Finishing Touches

First off, I wanted to start this post by saying that I WON!!!!! I am always entering blog giveaways and I actually won one. It was so exciting. Britta's Boutique was having a giveaway for these super-duper cute hair clips, and I won. Hehe, it's so exciting. Thanks so much, Britta, for the awesome giveaway!
And, depending on how you look at it, T.J. won a giveaway too!! :) Pat, one of my co-workers, had a brand new bike taking up space in her garage and heard that we were wanting to get one for T.J., and she gave it to us. AWESOME!!!! Thanks so much, Pat! We will put it to good use!
Here are some pics from Saturday. These are our magic boxes. You can find easy and simple directions here.

I made some blueberry muffins today. They are delicious!! I decorated the house today with the little Halloween/Fall/Thanksgiving decorations that I have. I was feeling festive when I decided to use these Halloween muffin papers;)
My bird mobile makes me want to scream. Can you guess why? It is the biggest headache of a craft project EVER. I love the birds, they were easy-peasy. But finishing off the mobile makes me want to pull my hair out! If anyone has any tips, please, please, please send them my way! My mom is coming out in a couple weeks, and I am hoping that she will be able to help me get it straightened out.
I made these coasters today. They are super easy and the directions can be found here.
Last but not least, I was chosen to do be a pattern tester for Jessica at Happy Together. It was a great honor being chosen, and I am happy to say that these were a breeze to make. I hadn't ever worked with the safety eyes before, but they went on super easy with the great instructions. You will have to stop on over and say hi. I think she will be putting these three beauties on her blog soon.
Keriann and I whipped up three of them on Saturday, but we didn't get the faces done before I had to get ready for the wedding. Hers is the one with the big lips:)

Iowa Weekend In Review

First of all, we had a really good time visiting in Iowa. It was a whirlwind trip and we didn't get to see everyone we would have liked. When we are back around Thanksgiving, we will hopefully get to see everyone and have lots of time to visit!

Friday night we ended up going to Mike & Megan's house. They hosted a little get together and we got to see a lot of T.J.'s friends and their families. It was so nice to get to catch up and just hang out.

Saturday Keriann and I made some stuff. I still don't have my octopus's faces done or I would post them. Tomorrow I plan on finishing them and then I will post the pictures.

Saturday night was the Logsdon/Halter wedding. The wedding was small, mostly just family and a few friends. It was such a nice laid back wedding, very fun with lots of laughing and smiling. We hope nothing but the best for Jill & Bryce in the future.

The reception was at White Oak Winery. I had a couple of glasses of wine before I switched to beer. That's what I'll blame my crazy headache I had this morning on! It was so fun to see everyone and dance the night away at the reception!!

They had a party bus for the wedding party and some friends for after the reception. First they went to Billy's in Elkhart, then Pal's in Maxwell, and then were going to O'Kelly's in Baxter. We went to the first two but didn't ride the bus, we rode with Terry & Robin Stiles, and then went home. BTW, thanks for driving us around Terry & Robin!! :)

Then this morning T.J. was up at the crack of dawn, dragging me out of bed when I was DEFINITELY not ready to. He always likes getting a good start so we don't get home so late. I slept most of the way, thanks to my neck pillow;)

Here is Tom with all the dogs
T.J. got a surprise early birthday gift from Keriann & Derrick. They made him this corn hole game. Now we just need to paint them. They will probably be hawkeyes!
The McCords at the winery where Jill & Bryce's reception was.
My besties from Baxter. Kristy, we missed you!!
We had to get a picture with the beautiful bride!
More good friends that I LOVED catching up with!!!

Quick Quicky

Just a quick post from the phone on the way to the wedding.

The first picture is Brennan Lawrence. We got to play a lot together last night! We had so much fun hanging with T.J.'s buddies and their wives. I am so glad it worked out that we could get together!

The next two pics are of the fun things that Keriann and I made this weekend. I will elaborate tomorrow when I get home.

Driving and blogging on the go

This is the first time posting from my awesome new iPhone, the one I don't know how I could have lived so long without. We are about an hour and a half in -- only five and a half left. I am working, so the time passes more quickly. Driving across the Midwest at night is BORING!!! :)

Gearing up for a Fun-Filled Weekend!

Tonight we are heading back to Iowa to celebrate the marriage of these two:
This is T.J.'s cousin, Jill, and one of my friend's lil brothers, Bryce. Good times are ahead for us Saturday night and we can't wait! Celebrating their marriage with lots of friends and family is guaranteed to be a good time.
I can't wait for the good time because I have been cleaning and packing, packing and cleaning. I hate to leave a messy house when we go out of town, that just makes for more clean up when I get home. And we are only going for a couple days, but we pack like we are going for weeks. This is a little ridiculous:

Packing, ending with a giveaway:)

Tomorrow night we head to Iowa. We will leave as soon as T.J. is done with work at 8, drive 7 hours, get there in the middle of the night. At least we will have all day Friday there. I have more packing to do before tomorrow, so I better get back to it.

Sparkle Power is hosting a great giveaway! Check out All for your favorite brands like Roadmaster, KidKraft, little Tikes and more! Giveaway ends 10/7!

Shopping Extravaganza

What happens when you have had a really long day at work, you need an outfit for a wedding this weekend, you don't have anything particular in mind, you have a coupon to use, and you are particularly indecisive that day?
You go to NY&CO and spend twice as much as you thought you would and end up with a ton of stuff. On a positive note, I really needed work clothes, so this will definitely spruce up my work wear!

Two of my favorite...

...songs right now are Two is Better Than One by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift and Tangled Up in You by Staind. I have been working in Terre Haute Thurs, Fri, Mon, and today, so I got lots of good driving and singing time in.

The first time I heard Two is Better Than One I fell in love. But I LOVE Taylor Swift! I also am a sucker for love songs:) Here are the lyrics:

I remember what you wore on the first day
You came into my life
And I thought hey
You know this could be something
'Cause everything you do and words you say
You know that it all takes my breath away
And now I'm left with nothing

'Cause maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
Well maybe two is better than one
There's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
And I'm thinking two, is better than one

I remember every look upon your face,
The way you roll your eyes, the way you taste
You make it hard for breathing
'Cause when I close my eyes and drift away
I think of you and everythings okay
And finally now, we're leaving

And maybe it's true, that I can't live without you
Well maybe two is better than one
There's so much time, to figure out the rest of my life
And you've already got me coming undone
And I'm thinking two, is better than one

My next favorite song by Staind is awesome. His voice is amazing and I love the lyrics of this one too!

You're My World
The Shelter From The Rain
You're The Pills
That Take Away My Pain
You're The Light
That Helps Me Find My Way
You're The Words
When I Have Nothing To Say

And In This World
Where Nothing Else Is True
Here I Am
Still Tangled Up In You
I'm Still Tangled Up In You
Still Tangled Up In You

You're The Fire
That Warms Me When I'm Cold
You're The Hand
I Have To Hold As I Grow Old
You're The Shore
When I Am Lost At Sea
You're The Only Thing
That I Like About Me

And In This World
Where Nothing Else Is True
Here I Am
Still Tangled Up In You
I'm Still Tangled Up In You

How Long Has It Been
Since This Storyline Began
And I Hope It Never Ends
And Goes Like This Forever

Saturday in the Saddle

Today was the Hope Ride in Hope, Indiana. Hope is about an hour from Plainfield, so we were up super early to get down there in time for the free pancake breakfast. It was good too and so worth it! I am sure I needed those carbs! The lowdown of the day:
There were a lot of people riding.
The tat sleeves were a big hit.
I broke my longest ride record with a whopping 55 miles.
My biggest injury is two blisters on my pinkies from my gloves rubbing.
My next biggest injury would probably be my sore tushy!
T.J. and Keith did 25. Natasha & I are beasts.
T.J.'s bike he rode was awesome! I could lift it with one finger.
This really makes me want to do RAGBRAI next year!
I rocked the fanny pack today.
I am exhausted and am going to bed as soon as I post this!!

After the ride we had to take T's rental back, so we had to go up north. Afterwards we just happened to bop into an AT&T store and just look at what we came home with:)

Mine is green & T.J.'s is the orange. We are still figuring them out, but they are so fun.

I know the route on I70 to Terre Haute like the back of my hand

Let me start this post by apologizing right at the beginning for the lack of cohesiveness of my blogging lately. I need to blog when I have one topic, not save up until I have ten and then just blab on and on and on. Maybe on my next post I will be better. Until then, here goes:
I have been hustling back and forth from Plainfield to Terre Haute the last couple days. It's pronounced Tara Hote, in case you were wondering. I have been taking depositions there and will be going back next week. It's only an hour one way, so it's not too bad of a drive. I get lots of singing and cell phone talking in!
Anyway, the point of this whole long introduction is that Terre Haute has a really good Goodwill. It is really big and always has lots of treasures for me. Usually more than one! When I stopped on Thursday, I had to shop with a cart:) So, here's just a couple of the things that I got on Thursday:

The metal storage file things I think I am going to recover them somehow. I haven't decided exactly how yet. I will have to see what I can find online for ideas. I think I will use them in my craft room for some extra storage. I also got a bunch of fabric, but didn't get a picture b/c it's in the dryer.

Then I got this sweet Polaroid camera for $2.50! I don't know if it works or not. I need to buy some film b/c I guess the battery is in the film. I learned this from the guy that was glaring at me after picking it up. He snatched all the cameras up in Goodwill and was not happy that I had this one:) I was this close to a throw-down in Goodwill.

I did my long run today for my marathon training. It was 7 miles. I haven't gone 7 miles in a looong time! Probably since I trained and ran a half marathon in 2007. Anyway, whenever I run over 6 miles, I don't feel very good after. So I am kind of worthless tonight!

Only 16 more weeks before the WDW marathon! I am kind of nervous about November's training! For example, the week of Nov. 16 my runs are 4, 8, 4, 16. When I did a half, which is 13, I thought I might die crossing that finish line. Now I am going to have to go out on my own and run even longer.

On a side note, the Hope Ride is tomorrow. I went and picked up T.J.'s rentable road bike. It is awesome and is light as a feather. I am jealous! Natasha and I have matching sleeves just for the occasion! Aren't they awesome?!?!

P.S. I have received a couple of comments from people who don't publicly follow my blog. First, I LOVE getting comments:) And second, I love to see who is following. I was blogging for a really long time before I realized that people who didn't know me read my blog. Bloggersville is like a-whole-nother world! So, don't be afraid to comment or follow. I really do appreciate it:)

Concentration, Magnets, and a Garden?

I found a homemade game of concentration at The Graphics Fairy. I printed my sheets out and got to modge-podging right away! T.J. and I played a game tonight and it was fun! Keriann, (my game-loving little siser) I can't wait to play a game with you!
I found these magnetic sheets at Hobby Lobby and printed some photos out on one. I think I might try to make my next ones with some borders, etc.

I needed a break from the monkeys, so I did these small projects. I have three on the list of next to do, then I am on monkey hiatus! Maybe this weekend I can get started on them.

Here is a blog for the R rated crafters. Natasha sent me this, thinking of the holidays, you know? :)
Last but not least for another totally random blog post (I guess I just have such a wide variety of topics to talk about!) my tomato. When Mom was here this summer, she planted a tomato plant. Finally, after waiting it out, I get to reap the benefits! Here is the beauty that that plant grew:

I can't decide what to make. I am thinking a BLT. I just don't think it's enough for salsa:)

It's Gone to the Monkeys and the Birds Here!!

My monkey maniacs all chilling together after getting finished!!
Isn't the little lady on the left such a diva? :) I love the lips!

I am not finished with the monkeying around that's going on at my house. I am going to make a few more before I am hopefully going to take a break making them!
Below is a picture of my bird mobile. I finally got around to getting the birds on the sticks and, well, you can see what happened. My stupid birds just sat upside down. So, I had to look at Jill's blog where I got the idea and she used something to help make it hang right side up. So I have to go and get some of those. (obviously I can't remember what it is even as I'm typing this:) I am so excited to get this done, though. I think it's going to be so cute! My "someday" child will love it!

Now I am off to go run. Next month my marathon training really vamps up, so I am trying to get disciplined now while my runs aren't too long. And the ride last night really wasn't too bad. Luckily we went a shorter distance and I only thought dying would be better than riding another minute only once (or maybe twice, but who's counting?)! If my toes would stop going numb and feel like they are going to fall off, I would really enjoy my rides more. I am going to do some adjusting with my bike and hopefully have a much more comfortable ride on Saturday.
I just realized I never mentioned the upcoming Saturday ride on here. Saturday I rented a road bike for T.J., and we along with Natasha and Keith are doing a ride called the Hope Ride in Hope, Indiana. We are signed up to do 50 miles, so wish us luck!! There are lots of stops along the way, a pancake breakfast beforehand, lunch, and other goodies along the way. I am sure we will manage 50 miles, just not sure how long it will take us:)

Songs that have Meaning to Me

The other day -- Sept. 11, to be exact -- I was reading the Lil Blue Boo blog. Ashley posted this about a song she loves, which made me thing about songs I love. Songs that no matter where you listen to them, they make you feel happy, sad, proud, thankful, grateful, loved, nostalgia, etc. So here is my list of all time favorite songs, in no particular order:
  • Let it Be -- The Beatles
  • Your Song -- Elton John
  • When you Believe -- Mariah & Whitney
  • Amazing Grace -- LeeAnn Rimes
  • Jesus Take the Wheel -- Carrie Underwood
  • Just a Dream -- Carrie Underwood
  • Heaven -- Warrant
  • Forever and Always -- Shania Twain
  • It's Your Love -- Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
  • Star Spangled Banner -- Dixie Chicks
  • So Hard -- Dixie Chicks
  • Wide Open Spaces -- Dixie Chicks
  • Beautiful -- Christina Aguilera
  • Man in the Mirror -- Michael Jackson
  • We Are the World -- Michael Jackson
  • Somewhere Over the Rainbow -- Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
  • Turn!Turn!Turn! -- The Byrds

I am sure that there are plenty more that I could list, but this was all I could think of for now. If you have any good ones to add, be sure to comment:)

Today I got up when it was still dark, ran, lifted, worked, and am exhausted. Then tonight I am going on a 30 mile bike ride, which I am sure I will be near death when I am done. These people go so fast that the last time I went, after mile 15 I was sure it was the end for me. So why not go back and do it again; right? Well, to make it a little better, I got some new shorts today and a new jersey. My old shorts were out of commission after the last 30 mile ride.

And the latest sock monkey report -- I suck and haven't touched them in days. Ahhhh! I have to have them in the mail tomorrow because I have a deadline to get them to the organizer. And me, being the procrastinator that I am, have waited until the last minute to get them done. Lucky for me, I don't have a job tomorrow, so I am sleeping in and getting all rested up for the sock monkey marathon that will be happening here tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

Things I'm loving about today:

  • got my jobs done from yesterday
  • watched Iowa stomp Iowa State -- Go Hawks!!
  • watched parts of the Notre Dame/Michigan game and LOVED hearing the Notre Dame song since it was Baxter H.S.'s school song
  • looking over at my cutie pies while I am working. They got lots of rest today:)

I can pack a blog post full of randomness, no problem!

1) There is a giveaway at SEW-FANTASTIC. It is awesome. She is giving away EIGHT things. Maybe I will get lucky on this giveaway?!?!?! Go check it out. There are some really cute things that she makes!
2) Last night was Bingo Night. I am sad to report that we had no winnings in our group. The Bingo hall has been filling up more and more since we started going. I think this fall/winter it is going to be crazy!

They had a couple raffles for Bingo bags, which I went nuts for but didn't win. If anyone ever spots a tutorial on how to make one, let me know because I will definitely get on that right away! I already have three dobbers and they are weighing my purse down. Oh, and some ladies had place card things they made to put your tickets and small papers in. I need to get looking for something or make something like that too.

3) Every night before bed we take the boys' collars off and rub their necks. They LOVE it. So we tried to get a video of Herky telling me how much he liked it. If you turn your volume up, you can hear him:)

4) I'll end this post with a shout out to the IOWA HAWKEYES! The University of Iowa plays Iowa State today in the state's big rivalry. I am not sure if the game will be on out here in Indy, but T.J. left me with a list of channels I have to check so I can DVR it for him. He has to work a half a day today. You can take the girl out of Iowa, but you can't take the Iowa out of the girl:)
