Here is a video from dinner Friday night at our favorite Mexican restaurant, El J's. We have been going there at least once a week since we moved here in May of '08. They all recognize us when we go in and a few of the waiters even know what we order. When we got there, I told Pepe, our favorite waiter, that it was T.J.'s 30th birthday. He was surprised he was that old:) After dinner, they sang to T.J. and he got a complimentary shot of tequila -- cha cha cha!!Saturday we got some work done in our guest room. We got a new desk and side table to go by the daybed. Some day I will post some pictures...maybe once we get T.J.'s sports stuff to hang on the walls. I think it will look so much better once we get that stuff here!
Saturday night we ate with Keith & Natasha at Fogo de Chao, which is a Brazilian steakhouse. Their house speciality meat is sooo good! I ate a months worth of steak in one night. When you go there, everyone pays $40 for dinner, which includes a salad bar, rolls, side dishes, and unlimited meat. When you want meat, you flip a little card over from red to green and the waiters who are dressed in cute outfits run over and offer you some meat. They carve it off their barbecuing sticks. You have tongs and you have to grab the meat and put it on your plate.
I also had a caipirinha, which is a traditional Brazilian drink. After dinner we also got dessert, which we never do, but this was a special occasion and all. The waiter suggested the papaya cream. It is supposed to help you digest meat:)
After dinner we went over to O'Reillys to watch the Iowa game, which was a heart stopping game. Nothing like a touchdown with 2 seconds left. Phew!
After that we went to Champps to watch the UFC fights. This is where I got pretty tired. I get so bored watching the fights, so I talked to Natasha most of the time or messed with my iPhone:) We went back to O'Reillys for a little bit and then headed home.
On Sunday we went back to O'Reillys to watch the Colts play. After getting home, we crashed on the couch for some R&R. We finished Transformers (I'm not a fan) and watched Desperate Housewives. I hope this next week and weekend will be a little bit more relaxing!

Even though I had big plans to go all out for the 30th birthday, it, of course, came to the last minute last night. I needed a card and a cake. Wal-Mart had this delicious frosted cookie and it was screaming his name. LOL! Okay. Maybe not. The flowers and everything are a little girly, but it was the most boy colors of all the cookies.
The big 3-0. I had to sing to T.J. all by myself. I was hoping the dogs would help me, but they just seemed confused by what was going on. Below are T.J.'s gifts. Do you see a theme?

From far away you can see the picture.
As it gets closer, you can see what the picture is really made of.
This week I should have accomplished a lot, but didn't. I haven't been busy with work and just have been relaxing when I should be stuffing sock monkeys! I swear I am going to get busy on them...maybe this weekend. I also need to hunt down some cute t-shirts now so I can try to make a hoodie!
Today is T.J.'s last day being a twenty-something. Tomorrow is his 30th birthday. I am feeling inadequate in the birthday planning department. For some reason, this is not my strong suit. We don't have anything too big planned, but I hope he will have a great birthday weekend!
Also, our good friends, Roger and Abby, who are adopting sweet Ari from Ethiopia, have a court date set for Tuesday. Please say a prayer for them. If they pass court the first time on Tuesday, they will have Baby Ari home before Christmas. I can't think of a better Christmas present, can you?

After I post this, I am going to go for my first run in three weeks. The doctor told me to take it easy so that my stomach could heal from the ulcer. I should have probably started back last week, but I gave myself an extra week just in case. I am just going to jump right back into my schedule b/c I don't have time to ease my way back into it. I am going to take it easy and go slow so I don't overdo it. My week of running? 3, 6, 3, 12. Gasp! I am going to have to take it super slow for that 12 miler:)
I have a few errands to run: library, post office, bank. Then this afternoon, I am going to Bloomington with Keith & Natasha. Today is Natasha's birthday -- Happy Birthday, Natasha!!! We have a few things planned, which include: going to pet puppies, going to Haley's Boutique, going to an awesome shoe store, and going out to dinner. I have been wanting to get down to Haley's Boutique, which is Natasha's sister (Lydia) and her husband's (Brent) clothing store, for some time now and am so glad it finally worked out!
Yesterday morning we headed to Indiana Live casino to try out luck. The casino is really nice and it let us play a little bit. Here we are at our favorite slots:)

Hopefully I can get it done tomorrow morning and still have a little time to clean, do laundry, and make goodies, ie pumpkin bars & scotcharoos. Yum!!
Tonight I took a little break and went to Bingo and lost. We made a good run for the jackpot. Natasha was only one number away from the big $1,000 winning. I even wore my lucky shirt that I had on last time I won. But I did wash it, so I might have washed the luck away or something because it was no good for me tonight!
I don't know if I mentioned this, but I won another giveaway!! I won a $20 gift certificate to Ellebows Etsy site. I got my goods in the mail this week and they are so cute! I wish they were for me and not babies;) Now it's a question of keeping them for my some day kids or gifting them...only time will tell!
I am sure I have more things to tell you about, but this is all my tired brain can think of right now. I leave you with a few giveaways:)
First, Rae Gun Ramblings is having a giveaway for Japanese fat quarters. It would be fun to win these!!! You should check it out!
And last, but certainly not least, there is a giveaway over at Tales from Shopaholic Mommy for $200 giveaway. That's right...$200! I am sure I could handle winning $200 in jewelry!

After getting my hope chest out of storage, all the blankets I had in it needed washed. This is one of them. It is my t-shirt quilt from high school. This is just a number of the shirts I had from sports, clubs, etc. I love looking at it, though. It brings back so many memories! Some of the seams were coming apart, so I had to stitch them back together and I thought I would share a picture of it just for fun.
Today I made Mr. Frogger. You can find the tutorial at Lil Blue Boo. He was super easy to make. She made him with beans and I just stuffed him, so he's a softie:) Speaking of Lil Blue Boo, if you click HERE, it should take you to her blog where you can try to win a $50 gift card to Happy Chickadee. Holla!!!! :)
I had an early examination under oath today where my witness didn't show, got that turned in, and now I'm going to work on some sewing I have to do. I haven't been feeling well. I didn't feel good yesterday when I woke up and haven't felt well today either. I am really wondering if it isn't an ulcer after all...

- Mom, Scott, Brandon & Amber left this morning after loading up mom's stuff.
- We ate a big Bob Evans breakfast after loading the truck.
- It was freezing this morning loading up the truck and I was chilled to the bone until I took a bath this afternoon.
- T.J. and I went and looked at a trundle and day bed we found on Craigslist for one of our extra rooms.
- We stopped at Lowe's to get some paint to paint said day bed and T.J.'s corn hole game

Don't mind the mess that is in the background! I had a job this morning and am working on getting it done now. I have been checking out audiobooks from the library, downloading them into itunes and then putting them on my phone. I plan to get through some of these with all my upcoming craft projects:)
