I have been busy reading (or listening) these days. Tonight I just finished listening to Dead to the World, the fourth book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I also got a good start on Dead as a Doornail, the next one.

I have also been actually reading a book -- Belly Laughs. It is really cute and made me laugh out loud a couple times. After I finish that one, I have one from the library called Your Best Birth. I am hoping to get a little more educated on all this baby delivery stuff:)

Glucose Test

Yesterday I had my last monthly doctors appointment. Now I start going every two weeks. I had to do my glucose screening test and get a rhogam shot, so it was a very exciting appointment.

The glucose test consists of going in, drinking a bottle of orange drink (which I thought tasted little like flat orange pop medicine), then getting your blood drawn. I drank it fine. Then I felt dizzy and kind of sick to my stomach right away, but the dizziness passed. After an hour I got my blood drawn. I sure hope I pass! If not, I will have to go back and do a more extensive test where you have to drink a lot more of the orange stuff.

My stomach was kind of hurting after drinking the stuff and then I was getting pretty hungry. I was seriously having a hard time staying awake on the drive home. The nurse said that I would probably be tired, but it was ridiculous. I got home, had lunch, then crashed on the couch. I felt pretty awful. After my nap I felt a little better, but my stomach was still not feeling quite right.

Today I feel better, which is a relief! I had big plans to get lots of work done yesterday too, but that didn't happen. Now I just have to wait for the test results. I am crossing my fingers I pass!!

Nursery: Bookcase, Chair & Rug

This weekend after the garage sale, we headed to Ikea & Wal-Mart to finish buying the furniture for the nursery. We got the bookcase at Ikea, the cubes are from Target, though. The chair is from Wal-Mart. The rug is also from Ikea.

The room is really coming together now!
We picked up a few frames at Ikea too. I ordered some prints on Etsy last night, so hopefully they will be here soon!

Only 12 more weeks until McBaby is due!! It will be here before we know it!

First of all, I am embarrassed to post this picture, but feel I need to to document this pregnancy accurately. Yesterday we got up at 7, set up garage sale, cleaned garage out, drove 2 hours, shopped Ikea, drove 2 hours back, shopped Wal-Mart. It was exhausting! Needless to say, my feet were the things hurting/bothering me the worse! By the time we got home from Wal-Mart, my toes were numb and tingling.
As you can see from the picture, my flip flops were so tight they left marks. I had to wear flip flops because I tried to put my tennis shoes on before leaving for Ikea and could barely get my foot in the shoe, let alone lace them up. My shoes looked like they were going to explode:)

This morning I woke up and they were still pretty swollen. We cleaned the house and put furniture together all day until about 3, then I showered and have had my feet up since then. Oh, the joys of being pregnant:)

Sold Out!

Yesterday when we closed up the garage sale, we had a couple boxes and some odds and ends left. So we took them to Goodwill and donated them. The only things left in the garage were the daybed and trundle and the washer and dryer.

We decided to head to Ikea in Cincinnati after getting cleaned up to spend our garage sale money:) I have been waiting patiently to go and get the bookcase for the nursery. We got it and lots of other stuff. I will hopefully post pictures of our new goods tomorrow.

Anyway, when we got home, we had a note on the door asking if we still had the washer and dryer. Long story short -- the people wanted it and came and got it this morning!! Wahoo! Then it was just the daybed and trundle set.

So today we had a visit from one of the people from the garage sale asking if we still had the bed. Yep! So, they ended up buying that today. The garage is clear and we are thrilled to not have to post stuff on Craigslist!

Garage Sale Day = Success

Garage Before:
Garage After:
We got rid of so much stuff at our garage sale today! It is so nice to be able to see our garage floor again. So about $330 later, we are happy with how well we did!! We still have a couple of our big items, so hopefully they will go tomorrow. If not, then we will have to put them on craigslist and hope for a quick sell that way. All in all, it's been a success!

Checking Off the To-Do List

Tonight has been a very productive night. I finished listening to Club Dead, the third book in the Sookie Stackhouse Vampire series. It was, of course, really good. I started My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler tonight on a playaway from the library. For some reason they don't have this book on CD. It doesn't seem to be want to work for me, though, so I am going to go ahead and start the next Sookie Stackhouse book instead.
I made some signs up for the garage sale. Tomorrow T.J. and I need to put these out to direct people to our house for Friday and Saturday. I sure hope people come and buy all of our stuff!

I finished sewing up the corn hole bags. Now I just need to get the boards painted. Maybe this weekend I can start on that.

On Monday I tried out Elements Salon here in Plainfield and fell in love! My stylist was great, the products were awesome, and it was five minutes from my house.
I have been going to the Aveda school on the north side of Indianapolis, which takes me 40-45 minutes to get there. Then I am there for a good four hours getting worked on. I love the color they use, though. It doesn't dry out my hair as bad. And I love the cheap price.
But I decided that with my doctor's appointments ramping up to being every other week -- soon to be every week -- and a baby on the way, I need to cut back on time wasters. So finding a salon in town is what I set out to do. I wanted to try Elements because they do massage and nails as well as hair, so it's a one-stop shop!
Now for the part I am most excited about. They use a couple of different brands of product that I hadn't heard of before. The one that my stylist used on me was called Eufora. It is organic and everything she used smelled so good! I seriously wanted to buy everything.
I started out by buying some shampoo and conditioner. The conditioner was AMAZING! It tingled and cooled my scalp. It was a little pricey, so I am just going to use it once or twice a week as a repairing treatment.

I just wanted to spread the word about something I really like and would recommend to my friends:)

28 Years Young

That's right. Today is my birthday, and I am now 28 years young:) T.J. and I both have the day off, so we have been busy doing stuff around the house. This morning we went to the gym, then priced the garage sale stuff, ran to Wal-Mart to get poster board for the garage sale signs, then started messing with our new camera. This is what I got for my birthday:
We have been messing a little with it today, but don't have it totally figured out yet. I have a feeling I will be referring back to the directions for a while until I get used to it.

Kansas City Weekend

This last weekend T.J. and I ran around our old stomping ground, KC. We shopped, ate at our favorite places, and relaxed. The drive gave us lots of time to work on some baby names. Still not making too much headway yet. It's so hard to really nail one down!

Just to make your mouth water -- it's our delicious lunch at Westport Flea Market. I have been craving this forever!
For dinner we went to Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ. Seriously the best BBQ EVER!!! I never liked BBQ until I ate there. Ever since being pregnant, I have wanted to eat here really bad, so it made the whole trip! This is our attempt at a picture together with the timer on our piece of junk camera.
Me basking in the glory of my BBQ chicken and cheesy corn. YUM!
We walked around the Country Club Plaza on Father's Day and got McBaby this book.
We also shopped at Legends Mall, and found some great deals! We stayed at Aloft Hotel, which is fancy, modern, and hip. Right next to it was Cupcake A La Mode. It was seriously a good thing we went there right before we left. They were to die for! We hit up a little Sunday brunch at Tomfooleries -- no bloody mary bar for me:) Sunday night we hit the slots at Ameristar, then got a free steak dinner at the steakhouse thanks to Julie!
We had a great weekend and I am so glad that T.J. and I had this time to really enjoy each other. When we are home and busy with our everyday lives, we don't always take time to just be together.

27 Sweet Weeks

Bigger and bigger and bigger...that's how I feel. How can I possibly get any bigger? And I have such a long ways to go still.

I was hoping to blog about our weekend, but after we got back I had a hair appointment, then grocery shopping, so I will get all caught up tomorrow.

Happy Father's Day!

Today is T.J.'s first "unofficial" father's day. We have been keeping very busy in Kansas City on our weekend getaway. We have been eating at all of our favorite places, shopping, and relaxing. I will post more on our trip once we get home and I can upload photos and everything. I forgot my cords.

I wanted to wish a Happy Father's Day to a wonderful, caring, sweet man that will be the best father in the world! Our little peanut will always have you wrapped around their finger, I just know it! I can't wait for McBaby to get here and let the Daddy times roll.

I also wanted to wish a Happy Father's Day to our fathers! They are always there when we need them and are always lending a helping hand. We love you!

Packages in the Mail!

I LOVE snail mail!! I love getting cards or magazines or packages, like I did yesterday and today. How lucky am I to get a packaged surprise waiting for me two days in a row!! It's almost as fun as Santa Clause coming for a visit.

My friend, Beth, sent me a little housewarming gift of towels and pot holders, and they match our kitchen perfectly!! She also sent along a little something for McBaby. See a resemblance? It's the same monkey, just a mini version. Love it!!!!

My cousin, Rachel, sent me this shirt and some little socks that were from a friend of hers. I am sure I can put them to some good use!
Thanks you so much, Beth & Rachel, for brightening my mail box encounters:)

Wish List Wednesday

Today's edition of Wish List Wednesday is going to be a little different. My wish today is for some of the things on my to-do list to go away. It seems like as soon as I check one thing off, two more go on. One step forward, two steps back.

As you can see from the picture below, our garage is still a disaster. We are going to have a garage sale in a couple weeks. First on the list, price the stuff. Second on the list, sell most of it (I hope!). Third, what doesn't sell, take to Goodwill. Next up on the wish list, to get our corn hole boards painted. Keriann & Derrick gave these to T.J. last year for his birthday. I primed them, but never got the fancy painting done.
Sew the bags for said corn hole game. The fabric is all ready to go (as it has been since last fall), I just need to sew them up!

Finish up this sewing project for a friend. I have the pieces cut, but am a little scared to take that first big step and sew. It's jersey cotton and I'm worried that it's not going to go through the machine well and I'll ruin the fabric. I am going to dive in, though!

Print the address labels for McBaby's birth announcements. I know I'm a little ahead of myself, but I figured it can't hurt to have some of this easy stuff ready to go. Then when we get home, I can whip up the announcements themselves and get them mailed out.
These birds... Any ideas? I took them off the dumb branches that they liked to hang upside down from. I think they are so cute and want to use them in the nursery, but am not sure how.
Stuff and sew up these 8 sock monkeys. They are all sewn and ready to go. I got a little burnt out on them a few months ago, but I had since bought some cute socks and couldn't help myself.
There is a much longer list, but that's all that I will bore you with right now. Now I am off to get busy on some of this!

Return Address Labels

Since we bought a house and will be here a while, I went crazy and printed a bunch of return address labels! Why is it that the simplest of tasks, like writing my return address, drives me crazy?
I made most of the sheets using these graphics:
Then I made one sheet using baby inspired pictures for thank yous and birth announcements.

26 Sweet Weeks

I wasn't dressed and ready to go before T.J. left the house this morning, so I had to do my picture in the mirror. Oh, and please excuse said dirty mirror:)

I have been feeling McBaby kick more and more over the last couple days. It is getting pretty active in there! Otherwise, I have been feeling good, sleeping well, and can't really complain. I will, however, complain about this humidity. I hate being outside the last week or so! It is so gross!
T.J. and I have a fun weekend planned coming up, so I am really looking forward to that. It is our last little get-away with just the two of us before the baby is born.

Keriann & Derrick Weekend!

Keriann and Derrick came out this weekend for a visit! We are so lucky to have three weekends in a row with visitors!! It has been so much fun! We were able to eat good food, watch good movies, play fun games, do a little shopping, and spend lots of time together. Thanks for coming out, K&D!

I also got a few snapshots of the boys the last few days. I just wanted to share:) Here is Herky doing a little snuggling with T.J.

The boys were resting on Friday on the couch and I love how Herky is laying:)

Nursery: Ceiling Pops of Color

This weekend Keriann and I made some paper ball things to hang from the ceiling above the baby's crib. I really like the first picture from this post and wanted to make some of the balls. It adds a fun punch of color to the nursery. I have some pictures picked out on Etsy but just need to order them. Hopefully this week we will be getting the glider, then in a couple weeks get the bookcase. It's so fun seeing the room come together!

This will be the baby's view from the crib looking up.

Vintage T.J.

Mike and Julie brought some old pictures of T.J. out when they came this last weekend. Yesterday I made some copies at Sam's and got them put on a CD. I just thought I would share a few of my favorites. Some of the pictures have dates on the back, so we can kind of guess how old he is.

KAOEP KAUPL SKP WREU OPB (Keep Calm and Write On)

I just can't stop blogging today. I guess I have a lot to say. Anyway, I have been scouring Etsy for some cheap prints for the nursery or anywhere else around the house since we don't have much going on as far as decorating goes. I searched court reporter and found these cards HERE:

It's a play on the WWII British poster that said Keep Calm and Carry On. For those who don't know, this is in steno and says "Keep Calm and Write On." So cute!

Drummer at Wrong Gig

T.J. showed me this video this morning. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend watching it and keep your eyes on the drummer. He is hilarious! I don't know how he doesn't lose one of his drum sticks!

Daddy Got the Boot

That's right. Last night McBaby went ahead and gave Daddy a good ol' kick! It was pretty exciting. We met Keith & Natasha last night for some dinner at Old Point Tavern, and I had a BBQ pork sandwich that really got the baby moving. After I got a couple good ones, I told T.J. to put his hand here and McBaby hauled off and gave him a big kick right where his hand was. Or maybe they were high-fiving. Who knows?

Anyway, it was really fun to see T.J.'s face light up and finally get to feel it! I guess McBaby likes BBQ:)

Due to my mom's extensive bug knowledge, we were able to identify what has been intruding into our house. These pesky earwig bugs. We first noticed it after we had a heavy rain. I guess they like moisture and darkness.
We didn't really notice the clampers on the back until the last week or so. I think the clampers have grown since when they first appeared. Anyway, they are so gross and I hate them! We have some stuff to spray around the house to hopefully take care of them. If not I think I will be making a call to the exterminator!

Getting Caught Up

This is going to be a modge podge post! But instead of doing a bunch of different ones, I am going to roll it all into one. First of all, I finished the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series, Living Dead in Dallas. Up next: The third one, Club Dead.

Now come the pictures. I have been so bad about taking pictures lately. I promise myself and my blog that I will get better! I blame it on my camera breaking and getting me out of the habit.
T.J. took this one of me and Herky snuggling:
