This is a hard one for me! Lately I have been listening to a lot of audiobooks instead of the radio, so I am not on the up-and-up with new music.
If I had to pick a song that is popular right now, it would be Love the Way You Lie by Eminem and Rihanna. I do like to get my rap on and sing along with Eminem. Then I also like to use my best singing voice and pretend I can sing like Rihanna. (which both sound ridiculous!)
Another song that I just love is Hallelujah by the Canadian Tenors. And then, of course, I love the Beatles. A few of my favorites are Let it Be, Yesterday, All You Need is Love, and Here Comes the Sun.
Laura over at The Meckleys is having a 30 day blog challenge. And because I am always up for a good challenge, I decided to give it a whirl. I will be starting tomorrow. I sure hope I can keep this up for 30 days!
Jessica at The Bormann Twins gave me a Lovely Blog Award. It's my first blog award -- yippee!!!
1. Accept the award. Post it on your blog with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.
2. Pay it forward to 15 other bloggers that you have newly discovered (Not all of these are "newly discovered").
3. Contact those blog owners and let them know they've been chosen.
I try not to bog down my blog with lots of blog giveaways, but this one is so cute and I had to let you know about it. I would just love to win this necklace! So, if you want to see what I am talking about, go to Amy Cornwell's site and check it out. All you have to do is leave a comment for a chance to win. Good luck:)
Yesterday was T.J.'s first day back to work since having Miles. I was a little nervous for him to go and leave me all alone, but I got along just fine. I did, however, have the thought that it would be easier if I was going back to work and leaving him at home alone with Miles. Am I missing a stay-at-home mommy gene? Maybe. I do love being able to spend this time with Miles, though.
On Monday we went on a 2 mile walk, did the laundry, cut some fruit, and caught a nap. I got one, Miles took 4 or 5 naps. I was exhausted! I can't believe how much effort the easiest things take now. Last night we fed Miles at about 10, then I headed to bed at around 10:30. T.J. stayed up with Miles watching the Bears football game, then he came to bed later. Miles slept until around 2. I am not kidding, that was the best 3.5 hours of sleep I have had since I had him! It's definitely the longest stretch of sleep I've had, and it was awesome!
Today we had Miles' doctor's appointment. He is up past his birth weight, weighing in at a little over 8 pounds! He has a goopy eye, which the doctor said is just a clogged tear duct. Other than that, he is looking great. Today we also started using size 1 diapers. We ran out of our stock of newborns, so I wanted to give the size 1s a shot. They are pretty big on him, but they work.
We also met Natasha for lunch at Champps, made a couple stops at JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby to get fabric for the 52 weeks pictures, and Miles took lots of naps -- me? Zero. Tonight might be a little rough. I am planning on taking it easy tomorrow. Maybe I will finally get my desk cleaned off (still haven't managed to tackle that!)
This afternoon we met Keith & Natasha and walked around the Indianapolis Museum of Art's 100 Acres. It's a bunch of trails around this lake. It was really fun and the perfect day to be out getting some fresh air! Miles was awesome and rode in his stroller most of the time. T.J. had to carry him for a little bit when the trail got a little too bumpy. We can't wait to go back!
On a side note, I got some boyscout popcorn today. Let me start off by saying, it is SOOOOO good! I haven't had boyscout popcorn since living at home with my mom. I must say, though, it is pretty darn expensive. At $10 an 11 oz. bag, I settled for just one. I was torn between caramelcorn and cheese, but am very happy I got caramel. Any bets on if the bag will be empty at the end of the night?
Today we went to the UFC weigh-ins. When we heard that the UFC was going to have a pay-per-view fight here, we thought that T.J. would for sure go. Then when we realized how close it was to my due date, we figured we would just wait and play it by ear. We checked for tickets today, but they are pretty expensive for not so great seats. It was neat to see the weigh-in. Maybe next time we will make it to the actual fight.
So we took Miles with us. It was pretty loud, but he slept right through it. I love the carrier thing! I will be using this a lot!
Joe Rogan is on the left side of the stage. Dana White has the gray t-shirt on. Joe Silva is in the right back corner of the stage.
I am officially up to date with our pictures on the blog! It is now my goal to keep it that way! I am also going to try to get back to blogging every day instead of once every few days and then having a ton of posts.

Trying to get caught up online while doing the biliblanket. Please ignore the mess on my desk! I am embarrassed to say that it's worse now! Yikes!!!
Hi, I'm Kaylan, a mom, freelance court reporter, and avid crafter. I'm married to my best friend and the best stay-at-home dad ever. We live in the suburbs outside of Indianapolis. Almost all of our family is back in Iowa except for my sister Keriann and her fiance Derrick. I talk about them a lot on here too; so if you see their names, you will know who they are.
I dabble a little in just about everything and love to blog about all of it. So grab your coffee and your laptop, kick back, and stay a while. Enjoy the show!
