On Friday Abby flew in for the weekend. Abby and I have been good friends since my first year of court reporting school way back when. We had such a fun weekend shopping, talking, and shopping some more and getting all caught up on everything. The time flew with Abby here, and I wish we had more time! We will just have to plan a road trip to Springfield soon. Miss you already, Abby!
Well, I am back in the saddle with work. I am really enjoying being back at work. I love what I do and really missed it when I was off work. T.J. is doing such a great job with Miles at home! I love seeing them together and knowing that T.J. is going to play such a big role in his son's life.
This is the first time I have pulled up my blog since Sunday and can't believe so much time has gone by. I am going to try to be better about posting, I swear!
Yesterday was Miles' two month visit. I went to hot yoga in the morning so T.J. took him by himself. I felt guilty about not going, but was also worried about going and crying while he got his shots. Well, he was such a trooper! T.J. said he let out a scream each time they poked him, but then calmed down okay.
Here are his stats: He weighed 13 pounds and is in the 83 percentile. He is 22 1/2 inches long and is in the 32 percentile. His head is 15 1/2 inches and he is in the 33 percentile.
He has been a little fussy last night and this afternoon, but hopefully he will be back to his happy self soon!
This has been a busy week for us. I am officially back to work full time. T.J. is officially a stay-at-home dad. And Miles officially slept 8 hours Friday night. We were very happy and well-rested on Saturday:)
I had a couple days of work that needed to be turned in on Monday, so I worked late Friday and then on Saturday. After getting some work done, we did a little shopping. I got a pair of jeans and a couple new tops for work. I am working hard at getting my pre-baby body back, but it is proving to be a lot of work. So in the meantime, I need to expand my wardrobe!
I have been doing the C25K app still. I have also been going to spinning on Wednesday and Friday mornings. The last week I have added going to hot yoga. This is my new favorite thing to do. It is such a great workout and I really enjoy going. The only downside is that it's in Broad Ripple, which is a little drive from my house. I hope I can find some place closer to home to do some hot yoga!
Today T.J. raked the yard and I put up Christmas lights while Miles napped. We got everything moved out to the road. In Plainfield they have a truck that comes around and sucks up the leaves that you have piled out front. It's nice to not have to bag everything!
Here are some pictures of Miles from last week.
He likes to play with this doggy:)
Miles isn't really a big fan of hanging on the boppy this way.
He did get a little neck workout in, though.
I like this picture because the dogs were laying there by Miles...we didn't place them there for the picture. I am pretty sure that T.J. was supposed to be keeping Miles awake here, though. He was probably messing around on his phone;)
I have been meaning to do a post about this forever, but keep forgetting. So pretty much since I found out I was pregnant, I couldn't wear my wedding ring. I was going to get a cheap ring just to wear, but T.J. thought that was silly and that I should just wait it out and I would have my ring back on soon enough. Well, I can, in fact, get it on:
It's just not all the way on. I do feel like I am able to get it up just a little further this week than last week. Maybe by the first of the year I will get that sucker back on! Bets anyone?
Miles is pretty active in this video. He is so much more alert and is starting to talk more. You might wonder why we always have him half undressed in pics and videos. Well, it's the only way we can keep him awake! If he gets all warm and cozy, he just falls asleep. So we have to undress him to keep him awake during the day and sleeping at night!
A fellow reporter, Maria, got us this picture for our baby shower. It came with the paint and instructions on how to do the handprints and get them just right. I think we did fairly well:) It's hanging on our bedroom wall so we can always remember Miles' little hands. I'm sure in just a few short years we won't believe how little he was.
Miles and I carved his pumpkin on Saturday. We traced his hands for the eyes. And, of course, it had to say his name.
I bought one of the fake pumpkins to carve a Bears logo into. The logo turned out good. The letters, though, not so good. It was hard to not saw off the little pieces that are supposed to stay in there. So the A and R are missing a little something, but oh well. It gives it character; right?
My dream for the future is to take time to enjoy what I have. I have been very blessed with a wonderful husband and precious baby boy. Sometimes I get busy living my life and need to remember to slow down and appreciate all that I have.
My dream for the future is to have more babies and drive a minivan!
My dream for the future is to help my children pay for college.
My dream for the future is to get back into shape.
My dream for the future is to take at least one family vacation a year.
My dream for the future is building a fun sandbox in our backyard.
My dream for the future is getting our house decorated.
My dream for the future is having Miles sleep through the night. Last night he only was up once! WAHOO!!
Hi, I'm Kaylan, a mom, freelance court reporter, and avid crafter. I'm married to my best friend and the best stay-at-home dad ever. We live in the suburbs outside of Indianapolis. Almost all of our family is back in Iowa except for my sister Keriann and her fiance Derrick. I talk about them a lot on here too; so if you see their names, you will know who they are.
I dabble a little in just about everything and love to blog about all of it. So grab your coffee and your laptop, kick back, and stay a while. Enjoy the show!
