Bathtub Time

It's another bath video.  Miles is getting some funny laughs.  He still LOVES bath time.  I need to video from the time we head upstairs to take off his clothes.  He is smiling and giggling the whole time.  Once he's naked and I pick him up to go into the bathroom, he can't contain himself -- so excited!

We have been using the whale bathtub thing still.  He wasn't quite ready for the chair thing yet when we tried it before.  I think he probably is now, though.  We fill the whale completely full of water and by the end of bathtub time there's hardly any in it.

And another ritual of ours with the bath, "It's bathtub time."  Say it with us in your best Pauly D voice.  You know, like "It's t-shirt time."  What?  You don't watch Jersey Shore?  You should YouTube it.  I know, it's dumb.  But still funny:)

Thrifty Day and a Movie

I decided to look on Craigslist today for a dining room table and chairs.  I don't look on Craigslist often, but every once in a while I get a wild hair and do.  Well, today I found a nice set that I like in Plainfield.  I kept thinking about it and talking about it, so I just decided to run real quick and look at it.  It's for sale at a consignment shop in town.

For starters, I would definitely recover the cushion.  The finish on it all is actually pretty good.  If it wasn't I was considering paint because I have seen lots of bloggers that do that, but I don't know how good it would hold up on a kitchen table.

So anyway, I ran and looked and liked it.  I don't gotta have it, absolutely love it or anything.  We'll see if it comes down in price anymore.  It has a clearance sticker on it, so I think I'll ride it out and see if it goes lower.

Here is a pic for your viewing pleasure.

So after stopping there I had the itch for cheap furniture.  So I decided to bop on over to Goodwill.  Although there wasn't any furniture, I did find some good steals!  I scored all these goodies for $5.45!
I got a glitter Easter egg kit, some eggs, a Fisher Price mailbox, a shovel, a rake, and a turtle toy.

I have been wanting to get one of these mailboxes because I think they are so cute, but they are about $30.  I got this one for $.99!  Score!  It is missing the little letters and package, but I think I will just make some out of felt for Miles to play with.  They do sell replacement ones, so I may go that route.  We'll see.

I hardly ever go to Goodwill just because of lack of time.  I have to be in the mood to dig around and search for things.  I am thinking I might have to go more often, though, after my good deals!  Oh, note to self, Saturday is half off EVERYTHING day at Goodwill, so I might have to get up bright and early and go shopping with all the crazies.  Miles totally got the hook up today!  Holla!

And lastly, and most importantly, Mr. Miles sitting up!  He is getting pretty darn good at it too.  He can bend over and get something and sit up on his own.  He still topples over on either side or back, but luckily he doesn't do the throw himself back.  We like to put him in this thing with his toys all around.  Then if he falls, it kind of catches him.

PS -- His jammies I went to put on him tonight were a little small, so I moved up a size.  He is now in 12 month sleepers.  *sigh*

Foot Fetish

Mr. Miles has quite the foot fetish. If he is fussy, all you have to do is wiggle your toes and he will watch them and calm down. And we all know how much he loves his own toes. Well, today he was getting a big kick out of my feet in my slippers. On a side note -- today is my eBay 7 year anniversary:)

I-O-W-A Part 2

Here are more pictures from the weekend in Iowa!  The night we were in Maxwell Miles was so giggly and so fun!  Playing with Grandma Jules.
No pants + fun blocks = happy Miles

And he's tuckered out!

Really tuckered out:)

Hanging with Uncle Tom.

We stopped in at Logsdon's Grocery when we got into Maxwell.  We had to put Miles on the scale to see where he was weighing in at.

Here you can actually see the number.

On Saturday Matt, Becky & Quinn came over.  This was our first time meeting Quinn and we were so excited!  Becky made Miles this super cute blankie.

Grammy B with her grand babies

Miles & Quinn playing.

Miles with Grandpa Rusty.

On the way home we stopped at McDonald's to feed Miles.  After we fed him, we put him in the highchair for fun to see how he would do.  It was his first time, and it went great!  He loved sitting up and looking around.

Spring Iowa Visit Part 1

Sorry for the bloggy hiatus!  I had planned on blogging the whole time we were in Iowa, but just ran out of time.  We had such a great time being back and visiting with lots of family and friends over a long weekend.  We were busy, busy, but had a blast!  Miles has slept like a champ today.  I think he was good and wore out!  So without further ado, here are some pics:
Miles totally dug this top and alligator toy.  He and Grammy B played on the floor for quite a while with these two.

Not sure what happened to his hair.  His hair usually lays flat and has a little combover/swoop thing.  I think Grammy B might have had something to do with it, but it was a little crazy!

See what I mean?

Grandpa & Grandma McCord got Miles these blocks.  He LOVES them!

Playing a little airplane.

He's already wore out.

Jill came over for a visit!

28 Weeks Take 2

I couldn't get my pictures to work yesterday, so here is Take 2.  Cross your fingers they show up!

We have quite the roller on our hands! Miles is mastering the skill of rolling. He goes both ways, forward and back. However, he hasn't figured out how to get where he wants to go. I am sure it's only a matter of time!
Here are some of the cute outtakes:)

Boom Boom

Tonight Miles decided to show off yet another trick. He did his first roll across the basement. Usually he rolls over and rolls back. After he got stuck, T.J. went to get him and told him to "Freeze." Miles thought it was hilarious, as you can see.

27 Weeks

Miles has crossed the hump into the second half of his first year.  He has started doing many new things just in the last week.  It is so fun to see all his new tricks!  He is becoming quite the roller.  He likes to go back and forth over the same arm usually.  Every once in a while he will go over the other arm, but not too often.  He also "talks" a lot when he's on the floor practicing rolling.  We put toys out to try to get him to roll, but found that his foot obsession actually works better.  Yep, just put your foot out of reach and he will roll to get it.

He is becoming quite the sitter.  If he has a full tummy and can't reach his toes, he does better!  He eats three meals a day.  For breakfast and dinner he is getting Gerber.  For lunch he has been getting homemade baby food.  We tried it a few weeks ago and it didn't sit too well with him.  He is tolerating it much better now.

Something I noticed just today is him reaching for you when he's on the ground and wants you to pick him up.  Miles is pretty ticklish.  I used to be so ticklish when I was little, so it looks like he inherited that from me.  Sorry, buddy!

Here's what 27 weeks looks like on Mr. Miles!

Here's a picture of that reaching I was talking about:

Dad's pretty funny!

Go Pacers!

Last night Miles went to his first Pacers game.  He was such a trooper and loved looking at the lights.  He was a little jumpy when the announcer got excited, but I couldn't blame him.  It was loud!  I covered his ears a little bit to try to block him out and that helped.

We were in the nose bleed section, four rows from the top.  That was a very stressful hike up and down the narrow stairs with Miles strapped to me!  Not only were my legs shaking from exhaustion, I was scared to death of tripping with him on me!

Miles may have been a little overstimulated by it all.  Usually he falls asleep by 8:00 and he didn't sleep there or in the car.  Then once we were home T.J. had to rock with him for a while to get him sleepy.  But once he was asleep, he had a good night's rest.

6 Month Doctor's Visit

Today was Miles' 6 month doctor's visit.  He did great and was such a charmer for the nurse.  They always have us undress him so they can check him out and he LOVES being naked.  So he was chatting and giggling up a storm.  By the time the doctor came in, he was getting sleepy.

Miles got three shots today and was such a trooper. Only one loud scream, followed by lots of binky sucking. No tears or anything. I am so glad T.J. is there to help hold him down. I just try to keep him calm. He was snoozing by the time we hit the car.  Hopefully he feels okay the rest of the day!  We are planning on going to the Pacers game tonight.

He weighed in at 19.15 (78%), 29 inches long (98%), and his head is 17 3/4 inches (84%).  So maybe Miles is going to be a tall boy?  The 29 inches is a little bit of a stressor for me, though.  His car seat is only good until he is 30 inches long or 30 pounds.  I guess we need to start looking for a different car seat!

We took this picture the other day after all that jumping and playing.  He was so sleepy!

Then we also took the picture of the dogs.  They are just wanting to get some blog time:)
