Chatting with Grammy

When I talk on the phone, Miles just watches me and sometimes reaches for the phone.  I usually put it up to his ear for him and grammy to "talk."  Which is really just mom talking to Miles.  He gets really still and just sits and listens.  Yesterday when we did it, she was talking and he just kept grinning.  She must have been telling some funny stories!

32 Weeks

On Saturday we went to an Easter egg hunt at the park here in Plainfield.  It was CRAZY!  I doubt we go there again.  I am looking forward to hiding lots of eggs in our backyard next year:)

Here is Miles with the bunny.
As you can see, it was a zoo!  And this was in the 0-2 section.  Miles got two eggs.  One was empty and one had a Hershey kiss in it.

On our way out of the park we stopped to try the swing.  It was a bright day with a little breeze, so he was making a funny face while swinging.  I think he liked it, though, so it will be fun to take him back.

For lunch we stopped at Firehouse Subs.  It was so good!  They had the cute hats for kids to wear.
On Sunday the Easter bunny stopped and brought Miles lots of goodies!
He got some outside sand or water toys, bubbles, a teddy bear, pool floatie, and a swing.  Looks like Miles is all set for lots of playing outside this spring and summer!  Go away, rain!!

Keriann, Derrick, T.J., Miles, and I made another run to Ikea this weekend.  Keriann and Derrick needed to get a few things before moving out this week.  We ended up buying a couch, but I will post about that in a few days with some pics.

Egg-a-Day, It's a Wrap!

This wraps up egg-a-day! This egg was designed by T.J. A little green with purple over it.

It says "Miles" on one side, "pride and joy" on the other. I know what you're thinking -- it looks like pride and jox. The wax crayon thing threw T.J. for a loop and he doesn't have the best handwriting:)

Funny Giggles

I had a long day at work today!  10:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.  So I didn't get too much Miles time in today.  Lucky for me, he was up when I got home, so I got a little snuggle time in.  When he saw me tonight, he started doing this funny giggle.  T.J. said he started doing it today, and that he got a video of it.  So now I am sharing with you.

Two additional things to note from this video:
1.  Miles LOVES playing with phones.  He has three but probably needs more:)  He has his favorite two right there by him.
2.  He isn't real fond of the swing, never has been.  But apparently we've been going about it all wrong.  Put him UNDER the swing to make him happy!

T.J. was being a bit of a party pooper this year when it came to egg dying.  So he used the wax and made an NY for the Yankees and dunked it in blue.  He wasn't very in touch with his creative side.

I stuck one on the other side too just for fun.

Here is Derrick's second egg in all its beauty!
His motto was put the egg in the bowl, go watch some TV, come back, switch colors, repeat.

Army crawling, that is.  The little man started army crawling today.  Here he is getting it!

We are starting to think we might have to get serious about baby proofing!
Here are some fun pictures from us playing today.

Derrick was a rookie egg dyer.  He said he never dyed an egg.  So he dunked his egg and a minute later was bored and wondered why people did it.  Ha!  But he did make a couple, so here is his first one.

He took the cracked egg.

Egg-A-Day FAIL

I can't believe I missed the Egg-A-Day feature yesterday!  In my defense, though, I worked all morning, then went wedding dress shopping with Keriann all afternoon yesterday.  When we got home we ate some Bazbeaux pizza and lounged on the couch looking for a cabin to rent this summer.  I was toast after all that dress shopping!  It was really fun to look but will be so hard to decide!  I'm so glad it is her and not me.  I am just along for the ride and hopefully some good advice:)

The next egg was a Keriann creation.  She did some beautiful designs with the wax crayon thing and a little double dye with orange and pink.
Here's a look at the back side too.
This egg is also a Keriann exclusive design.  It's a little hard to read in the picture, but it says "Keriann Rocks."
The back has some fancy dying techniques, as you can see.

Silly Uncle Derrick & Egg-A-Day

Yesterday Keriann and Derrick were watching Miles so I could get some work done and T.J. ran to get some groceries to make homemade baby food.  They went outside on a blankie and were playing.  Here are some cute pictures of Miles & Herky.

Miles has gone through a couple of phases with the dogs.  He loved them, then didn't really care about them, and now loves them again.  At first Baxter was really into Miles, but is kind of scared of him now.  I think his hair has gotten pulled a time or two.  Herky is a trooper and takes the hair pulling like a champ!  Once Miles is on the move, I think the dogs will love it!  And they will really love when he is feeding himself because that will mean lots on the floor for them.

While playing outside they recorded this cute little video.

Now the part you've all been waiting for -- drum roll, please...........Egg-A-Day!  Ha
So this is my last egg I designed.  As you can see, I tried to do a little chevron design on this side of the egg.
The next side of the egg got a little bunny on it.  It also says, "Hoppy Easter."

Baby Chicks & Bunnies AND Egg-A-Day

Yesterday we went to TSC where Uncle Derrick works and played with the baby chicks and bunnies.  They are too cute!

The egg below is another creation of mine.  A heart and polka dots:)

I have been meaning to post about this but keep forgetting.  Pinterest.  Have you heard of it?  It's fabulous!  I saw it a few times on some blogs, then finally requested to have an account.  It takes a week or two, then you can start pinning.  I pin things that I see on blogs or on Web sites that I want to make, love, or whatever.  I need to go through some of my old e-mails I have saved with links to projects or things that I liked.  If you want to follow me, you can click here and hopefully get to my page.  Happy pinning;)

First Time in the Cart & Egg-A-Day

Monday Keriann and I ran to Babies R Us to get some diapers for Mr. Miles.  He is moving into a size 4 during the day, size 5 at night.  He has big huge diapers in the morning and pees out if he is in anything smaller than a 5.  Anyways, back to the shopping.  We put Miles in the cart sitting up for the first time.  He did so good and really liked looking around.  This is so much easier than carrying his carrier around.  He is so heavy in that thing!

Now it's time for egg-a-day.  I am sure that no one gives two hoots about what our Easter eggs look like (except maybe our moms:), but I thought I would share just for fun.

This rainbow egg was created by me.  Stay tuned for more eggs!

Dying Eggs

We dyed eggs last night.  It was just before Mr. Miles' bedtime, so he hung out for a little bit, then had his bottle and went to bed.

Side note:  I have been meaning to post about some exciting news for Keriann & Derrick.  They got engaged!  It happened two weekends ago while they were back in Iowa for a visit.  We are so excited to have Derrick officially be a member of our family!
