I can't get enough of the cute ways I find Miles sleeping. I could take one every night but don't because I'm so afraid of waking him. He's got Big Bear in a scissor something it other is what T.J. said. I just know that Big Bear needs to tap out:)
I got this idea off of Pinterest. I made them a while ago, but have waited to give them to Miles since I didn't think he was ready. He couldn't quite grasp how the clothes pin worked, but it was good to work on with him to figure it out. Then he enjoyed lining them up and putting them back in the box and lining them up again.
One of the girls in our small group made this last week, and I just had to share because it is so delicious!!! I've been eating on it this week and am sure in the last week I've had more apples than I have all year. And my body isn't quite sure what to make of it if you know what I mean:)
So here's how you make a full recipe:
2 bricks cream cheese - softened
1 Marzeti's carmel dip
3/4 cup powdered sugar
mini chocolate chips or chopped regular chocolate chips
Mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar. Spread over two plates. Add carmel to the plates -- half on one, half on the other. Top with nuts on one and chocolate on the other.
When I made it, I didn't know how much T.J. would eat, so I just cut the recipe in half. I did half nuts and half chocolate. Although, now my chocolate half is gone and I'm thinking my nutty side needs some chocolate added to it! I didn't do the mini chips because they are semi-sweet, and I prefer milk chocolate, bu the mini chips look nicer. You've got to try this! It is so good!!
We are headed back to the apple orchard this weekend with Mom and Amber coming out. I'm going to have to buy the big bag of apples:)
So when it comes to birthday presents, we are the lamest. This is Miles' last birthday present we hadn't given him until this past weekend. He got so many presents, though, we just never got it out. Totally had it in the garage, ready to give to him, and he got it three weeks late. The way I see it, you can look at this two ways. One, poor kid, he should get all his presents on his birthday. Or, two, he can enjoy presents all throughout the month, instead of getting overwhelmed all on one day. (I say two:) He doesn't really get the whole birthday thing yet, so I'm not too worried about it. I'm probably going to have to step it up for next year's birthday, though, and let him open ALL his presents on his birthday.
His best two swings are the last two. He really nails it. So if you want to fast forward to that, I wouldn't blame you. And I'm sorry in advance for my obnoxious chatter. What can I say? If there's baseball going on, I turn into a chattering chanter:) "I see a hole out there. I see a hole out there. I see an H-O-L-E hole out there...."
Last week was another crazy week of working for me! On Friday I was itching to get out and do some shopping, so we headed to Target. I got a new blue purse. It's different than what I normally get, so that's fun. It's clean and not falling apart, which is just what I needed:)
After that we headed to the apple orchard in Danville. It was about closing time, so not much going on. But we walked around, bought a bag of apples and a little pumpkin for Miles. He was more interested in picking up their rocks and throwing them than anything else.
We were walking to find the pumpkin patch, and T.J. and Miles were doing a little running. This video cracks me up. When T.J. runs away, Miles is like, wait a minute, DAD!!
Hi, I'm Kaylan, a mom, freelance court reporter, and avid crafter. I'm married to my best friend and the best stay-at-home dad ever. We live in the suburbs outside of Indianapolis. Almost all of our family is back in Iowa except for my sister Keriann and her fiance Derrick. I talk about them a lot on here too; so if you see their names, you will know who they are.
I dabble a little in just about everything and love to blog about all of it. So grab your coffee and your laptop, kick back, and stay a while. Enjoy the show!
